What You'll Do
As a Community Occupational Therapist, you will:
- Conduct assessments for mobility, ergonomics, safety, and daily living activities.
- Collaborate with clients, families, and healthcare teams to develop individualized care plans.
- Support clients in their homes, workplaces, schools, or virtually to promote recovery and independence.
- Work with diverse clients, including those with mental health conditions, brain injuries, physical disabilities, and developmental delays.
Optional Focus Areas
- Pediatrics: Help children improve sensory processing, fine/gross motor skills, and self-care.
- Senior Care: Perform home safety evaluations and provide mobility aids for seniors.
- Workplace Health: Conduct ergonomic assessments and design return-to-work plans.
Qualifications
- Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of BC (COTBC) or eligibility to register.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for community visits.
- Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills.
